Day 88: Community Effort

The disappearing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has consistently made the news the last few days. People are talking about the mystery and because it's so bizarre there are theories floating around everywhere on what might have happened.

Nonetheless, the fact remains that there are people still searching a 3million square mile area for this flight on land or sea. I was intrigued to find the website tomnod where anybody can search grid by grid for oil slicks in the water, debris, safety rafts and anything unusual that might lead to the finding of this plane. I have searched about 2500 grid spaces over the last day - which isn't very many, to be honest, but I feel like having a large community of people helping with this effort is going to be the best chance of finding anything.

We're obviously behind by a week due to lack of communication that Malaysia's search capabilities were not up to par, but I feel like when over 200 people from all over the world are involved, this isn't something to give up.  There are people hoping for closure at some point - and if this can help them, then I am even more thankful for the community efforts which exist in our society today.

Also something I enjoyed reading through today was this article with all of the popular theories that have been shared - and why they are wrong:
