Day 79: Distractions

Some days are just tough.  Within them I am thankful for distractions from the tougher elements - todays distractions included the students in the classes I subbed, BuzzFeed, How I Met Your Mother, and physical therapy.

The students said that I was the best sub they'd had - helped them get stuff done but also didn't yell at them.  Sometimes I do wonder if I'm mature enough to really be in a high school with those students, but I feel like as long as the work gets done and nobody is in danger at any point, then it will work.  The teachers like that their lessons plans are done and the students appreciate that they don't have someone they don't even know trying to push them into things.  It is my constant reminder to them that they make decisions and they reap the consequences of their actions - if they want to make a bad choice it will be their own fault if there is a detrimental consequence.

On BuzzFeed, I love this post:
16 Tips from Bull Dogs to Improve Your Day - it probably helps that I LOVE bulldogs because they looks sooooo hilarious.  I still can't really believe there is a dog that looks like an English Bulldog.  Or a French Bulldog, for that matter. They certainly hold a special place in my heart.

How I Met Your Mother is just a good, distracting, feel good, funny TV show to me and therapy continues to yield results.  Definitely nothing to complain about there.

I'm glad that even within a tough day, distractions exist to lift my spirits.
